IN COOPERATION WITH SMALL CRAFT HARBOURS BRANCH, THE FALSE CREEK HARBOUR AUTHORITY HAS COMPLETED SEVERAL INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADES IN THE LAST YEAR. THESE INCLUDE THE INSTALLATION OF A GAS BOILER, MAIN ELECTRICAL POWER UPGRADE, AND INSTALLATION OF NEW TRANSFORMERS ON A & D AS WELL AS THE FISH SALES FLOAT.

· Gas Fired Boiler- The installation of the natural gas hot water boiler has been completed. This system replaced the electrical hot water tank that was in the washrooms.

· Electrical Upgrade- The major electrical upgrade for the harbour is completed. This project upgraded the main electrical supply lines and upgrade the distribution system to the floats. Currently A, D and the Sales Float have been fitted with new transformer and all the electrical panels in the harbour have been set up to take either 20 or 30 amp twist lock plugs. FCHA and SCHB are working on completing the power upgrade for B,C, & D float.

· Main Float Upgrade – Over the next three years this project will upgrade and retrofit the main floats. This involves new flotation where required and decking replacement.

· Finger Float upgrade – As you may have noticed there have been several new finger floats installed around the harbour. Some of these are refurbished and some are new floats. FCHA will be using the retrofitted floats to increase the number of floats on C float.

Some of these projects are on going and staff will try to minimize the disruption to the harbour users. As information becomes available on any new projects staff will keep you informed.

If you have any question regarding these projects or if you have any suggestions please feel free to contact the Harbour Manager.
