The FCHA would like to welcome aboard Terry Wheaton, our new Harbour Attendant. Terry was hired through Community Fisheries Development as part of the retraining program for fishermen displaced by industry restructuring. Terry has a background in Commercial Fishing and would be pleased to assist you.

The FCHA Board of Directors in conjunction with the Vancouver/Richmond Health Board, have chosen the most suitable proposal for the vending concession. To be located near the Fish Sales Float, the concession will offer a variety of seafood, coffee and beverages.

Fishermen with product to sell are asked to report to the office we are preparing a list of our seafood suppliers. Due to several inquiries, we would like to refer fishermen to possible buyers of their products.

Recycling bins are available for your use at the west end of the parking lot. By recycling you can cut down on our waste management costs and in turn keep your rates down. Please remember that the garbage bins are for harbour use only. Violators who dump offsite waste will be assessed a service charge for the cost of disposal.

There is now zero tolerance under the Canada Shipping Act for pollutants discharged into the water. The FCHA and vessel owners are required by law to report pollutant spills. As a vessel owner, YOU are responsible for any discharge into the water and the associated cleanup costs. These costs and/or fines can be substantial. Any cleanup costs incurred by the FCHA will be recovered from the party responsible for the pollution. Be informed on what is required by you. Information is available at the Harbour Office.

Harbour policy requires that Harbour users who are in arrears lose their parking privileges until their accounts are settled. Your vehicle will be towed if you owe for Harbour services. Please see the fireworks notice for parking procedures during these events.

Members are reminded that they must leash and pick-up after their dogs We have had several complaints regarding dogs and if dog owners will not leash and clean up after their animals the Board is may consider banning dogs from the facility entirely. Please look after your pet!

Coca-Cola Bottling is experiencing a labour dispute with their service workers. This has resulted in haphazard servicing of our pop machine that is beyond our control. In the interim, should the pop machine be out of service please see staff at the harbour office.
