Members are reminded that they must leash and pick-up after their dogs We have had several complaints regarding dogs and if dog owners will not leash and clean up after their animals the Board is may consinder banning dogs from the facility entirely. Please look after your pet!
There are important changes being proposed in Workers Compensation Board Regulations regarding Commercial Fishing Vessels. Please contact the WCB for more information.
There is now zero tolerance under the Canada Shipping Act for pollutants discharged into the water. The FCHA and vessel owners are required by law to report pollutant spills. As a vessel owner, YOU are responsible for any discharge into the water and the associated cleanup costs. These costs and/or fines can be substantial. Any cleanup costs incurred by the FCHA will be recovered from the party responsible for the pollution. Be informed on what is required by you. Information is available at the Harbour Office.
Harbour policy requires that Harbour users who are in arrears lose their parking privileges until their accounts are settled. Your vehicle will be towed if you owe for Harbour services.
Open Storage has been cleaned up. Unclaimed items will be disposed of by the FCHA by sealed bid. A list of these items is now available at the office. Closing date for the submission of bids will be March30, 1999.
At the FCHA’s request, the unused Hydro poles have been removed along 1st Avenue. We hope our neighbours enjoy the increased space and view.
