Summer Finally Here at False Creek Harbour Welcome to our Summer Guests THE STAFF AT FALSE CREEK WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME OUR SUMMER CUSTOMERS. IN ORDER TO MAKE YOUR STAY MORE ENJOYABLE THIS NEWSLETTER WILL FOCUS ON GUIDELINES CONCERNING PLEASURECRAFT AT FALSE CREEK HARBOUR. Every summer False Creek Harbour has followed a similar pattern: the Commercial Fishing Vessels depart for the fishing season and space would become available for pleasure craft to berth for July and August. The False Creek Harbour Authority would like very much to continue this tradition. However, restructuring in the Commercial Fishing Industry over the last few years has affected harbour operations. The reduction in salmon openings have kept boats in harbour longer and reduced the available number of reserved floats for pleasure craft. This has made space assignments increasingly difficult for staff. As False Creek Harbour is a Commercial Fishing Harbour, Commercial Fishing Vessels have priority over Pleasure craft with regards to berthage space and harbour services. This has been and will continue to be the policy at this facility. Every effort is being made by staff to accommodate the needs of all our customers. Your patience is appreciated. |
